Last Tuesday, the “Ressourcerie du Val de Sambre” inaugurated its new sorting facility dedicated to reuse, located at the Environmental Hub in Couillet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funded 90% by the European Union through the ERDF Fund and Wallonia, this new facility marks an important milestone in the development of the reuse centre\u2019s activities, which play a key role in Wallonia\u2019s reuse sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this new 2,500 m\u00b2 facility, all activities are now brought together on a single site: collection, sorting, repair, preparation for reuse, storage and retail. The building also doubles the available space, enabling the centre to meet the continued growth in demand and the volumes processed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This development also reflects an increasingly visible shift in behaviour: more and more of us want to give our belongings a second life rather than throw them away. This approach is fully aligned with the principles of the circular economy by extending the lifespan of everyday objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reuse Centre is already operating at full capacity, with many items ready to find new owners. Why not stop by and help keep the reuse loop going?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our engineering teams carried out all the structural engineering studies, as well as the building services studies, including HVAC and plumbing, together with the complete range of energy performance studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was designed to achieve exemplary energy performance and a low carbon footprint. As specialists in sustainable development and the circular economy through our S2 Engineering department, we are very proud to have contributed to this inspiring project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
