Currently undergoing a major transformation, Mechelen railway station is being renovated while remaining fully operational for passengers. The project, carried out by Artes Roegiers and CIT Blaton, is being completed in several phases and involves the renovation of the remaining 10 platforms, at an estimated cost of €100 million. The first phase has already seen platforms 1 and 2 brought back into service, and work is currently underway on platforms 8, 9 and 10. The construction work is expected to continue until mid-2030.
