Since its founding in 1968, Pirnay has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to social responsibility, placing responsible and community-minded values at the heart of its business. Beyond its engineering activities, the company actively supports projects and initiatives that enrich and benefit the local community.
A tangible commitment since 2007: Pirnay sponsored the development of a landscaped garden at Aulne Abbey, creating a natural and relaxing space accessible to all. This initiative reflects the company’s dedication to improving the quality of life and promoting collective well-being.
In 2013, Director Jean-Sébastien Pirnay further strengthened this commitment by joining the collective of corporate sponsors established by Prométhéa in Charleroi, highlighting the importance of investing in local development and economic solidarity.
In 2015, his involvement continued through his participation on the Board of Directors of the Fondation Papillon, an organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children. Pirnay contributed in particular to the construction of a centre in Montigny-le-Tilleul dedicated to welcoming and supporting these children. The company also organised corporate fundraising challenges to help finance the foundation’s activities.
Jean-Sébastien Pirnay also served as President of the Université Ouverte de Charleroi, supporting the promotion of lifelong learning, professional development and the emergence of new generations of talent.
In the cultural sphere, Pirnay supported the Folon Foundation Museum in 2024, demonstrating its commitment to preserving and promoting local cultural heritage.
At Pirnay, corporate social responsibility goes beyond the delivery of engineering projects. The company firmly believes that its expertise can help build a more inclusive, supportive and sustainable society. It is therefore committed to continuing to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference to the region and its people, reflecting its vision of a responsible business dedicated to the common good.
