Our Pirnay team had the pleasure of organizing a site visit in Charleroi on Friday, April 17, 2026, for Master’s students in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Construction, from Haute École en Hainaut (Mons).

The day included visits to three emblematic construction projects in Charleroi:

👉 𝐓𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐮 𝟏, a 14-storey building above ground, with two underground levels, comprising 20,452 m² of office space, 2,259 m² of apartments and 4,437 m² of parking facilities.
Client: IRET Development – Architect: Jaspers-Eyers Architects – Contractors: BPC Group – CIT Blaton

👉 𝐇ô𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐕𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢, an impressive 12,000 m² building spanning 17 floors, which will accommodate 138 rooms.
Client: Van der Valk – Architect: SL+ Architectes – Contractor: Bemat S.A.

👉 𝐀𝟔𝐊, Wallonia’s largest innovation and technological training centre, located along Charleroi’s R9 ring road.
Client / Project Manager: IGRETEC – Contractors: Bemat S.A. – Duchêne

These visits gave students the opportunity to connect theory with real-world practice, gain a more concrete understanding of the scope of a structural engineer’s responsibilities, and engage directly with the various professionals working on the projects.

👏 We would like to thank the teaching staff for making this encounter possible, the students for their insightful questions, and all the project stakeholders for their contribution to making this day a success — a day all about knowledge-sharing, learning and exchange.
