This year, the transformation of the former Générale de Banque headquarters was completed. The building has been transformed into a modern and functional 9,800 m² headquarters for Solidaris. Located in the heart of Charleroi, this project represented a genuine technical challenge and was made possible through effective collaboration between the various project stakeholders, including Thomas & Piron Bâtiment, Atelier de l’Arbre d’Or, and our structural engineering team.
🔨 The challenge? To adapt a building dating back to 1971 while preserving its original concrete structure, transforming it into a bright, energy-efficient and pleasant workplace for employees. The project involved integrating new functions while meeting the technical constraints associated with the existing structure.
🔑 Mission accomplished! Thanks to careful design and meticulous execution, the building now provides workspaces tailored to Solidaris’ needs, with more than 350 workstations, medical facilities and a new identity defined by transparency and natural light.
