Description
Our company was responsible for the entire engineering and design of the steel structures for the boat lift itself, as well as for the entire canal bridge and the seismic studies.
The 75-metre-high boat lift comprises an upstream canal, an upstream garage, a 90-metre abutment, a 130-metre movable caisson and a downstream garage. The structure is founded on a 35 m³ concrete foundation slab.
The PC1 span was structurally designed using finite element analysis. The project is a hydraulic structure incorporating approximately 1,200 tonnes of steelwork, with structural calculations carried out using the finite element method.
